MARK M. OTERO, CEO & Founder
Mark is the CEO and founder of KlickNation. Mark is known locally in Sacramento and Davis where he launched an award-winning yogurt cafe (mochii yogurt) one month after completing graduate school. He used the proceeds from his yogurt shop to launch KlickNation. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Mark moved to Sacramento at the age of 12 and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the California State University at Sacramento (CSUS).
In 2007, he received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree w/marketing concentration from the University of California at Davis. When Mark, a fanatical workaholic (often compared to the Energizer Bunny), is not obsessing over KlickNation's business, he enjoys time with his wife and their two dogs (Jake and Rocket), and traveling.
KEN WALTON, CEO & co-Founder.
(Yes, we have two CEOs. It's what works for us.)
Before discovering his true passion for launching internet start-ups, Ken held jobs that ranged from taxi driving to city planning. He even tried practicing law, which made him miserable, before finding his true love: forging technology companies out of nothing. His first successful venture was HammerTap, the groundbreaking online auction market research service, which he founded in 2000 and sold in 2001.
After a stint as a dilettante, he joined Mark at KlickNation in January 2008. Ken holds a BS in urban and regional planning from Cal Poly Pomona and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He's traveled to 27 countries and had a memoir published by Simon & Schuster. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter and works on KlickNation pretty much all the time. Because it's fun.
PETER HANELY, Software Engineer
Peter is KlickNation's resident non-conformist and evil genius. A master-of-all-trades, he's as adept in Perl as he is proficient in PHP, and as comfortable writing javascript as he is normalizing massive databases.
Peter holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Sacramento. He does not wear this helmet at work.
DANIEL BUSCAGLIA, Software Engineer
KlickNation's newest full-time programmer, Daniel Buscaglia is a web enthusiast and social media specialist. He began developing applications on the Internet at the age of 15 and continues to this day. A graduate of Cal Poly, he has worked at various start ups and now finds a good home at Klicknation. Daniel was the captain of the Cal Poly rugby team and, when he's not writing code, still plays. This makes him the only member of the KlickNation team to have ever played the game.
